Chapter 3 : A pinch of snuff


Summary


‘A pinch of snuff’ is short story written by Manohar malgaonkar.


This story is based on nanukaka who comes to author’s house to see the minister. But the author is not very much interested in guesting. But for mother first day they went to north block to see minister but nanukaka did not see any minister.

After that nanukaka got some information about the welfare minister from Sohanlal. Nanukaka made unique plan. In this era nanukaka is very clever and smart. First he managed a big car and made author his driver, Even nanukaka took the role of hereditary pundit of maharaja of ninnore. This way nanukaka meet the minister.

It proved that nanukaka is a great scholar because to impress anyone nanukaka uses short name and any big place name.

1. Do guests visit your house frequently? How do you espond to them?


Ans:- Yes guest frequently visit our house. we entertain them as best we can.


2. Do you like all of them equally? How often do you entertain your guests gladly?


Ans:- No, I don't like all of them equally. I don't entertain all of them gladly.


3. At time you may have to welcome a guest whom you don't like much. How do you do this?


Ans:- I try to neglect such a guest if possible. But it is not always possible.

Ans:~It is their because nanukaka was brother of his mother which makes her happy and fill very delighted. But for narrator's it stay meant in convenience.


2. Do you have a similar experience? Has you response to the news of the arrival of any guest ever been different from that of other members of the family?


Ans:~Yes, I have has a similar experience. The news of the arrival of my cousin made me happy but my family was disturbed my family doesn't like my going out with her and spending so much money.


3. ‘Had to travel second on third class ticket? But it was all arranged quite amicably’ ? What ‘arrangement’ Nanukaka is referring to? How can such arrangement be ‘Amicable’?


Ans:~Nanukaka was a very clever man he could manage to come out of and difficult situation. He must have explained to the ticket collector. Then he might have explain and bribed him then all thing was arrange amicable.

Ans:~ It was a time when India had won her independence very rarely that time the tie-and- collar was not a formal dress. People liked their native dress.

Ans:~ Nanukaka changed the under- secretary to a close-coller jodhpuri coat and put on a huge orange Turban, to accompany nanukaka.

Ans:~ A zamindar is an owner of large land. Their is a zamindar in our locality. People think that he is very rich.

Ans:~ By taking the name of hajarat barkat ali name he impressed sohanlal Ratiram. Because sohanlal had a work for his son with hajarat barkat ali.


6. What important information did he collet at Ratiram’s place?


Ans:~ The information that he welfare minister wanted to get married his daughter to the prince of ninnore. And from both side. The astrologers have not meet together.

Ans:~ At minister house he took the name of maharaja sukatta place. Even the dress of Nanukaka and that big car to impressed the minister.
